January 10 – Thomsø

As we get farther north the daylight gets shorter and shorter.  We arrived in Thomsø around mid-day.  

Sights for today were the aquarium…where we saw they seals being fed.

He just popped his head up.  That's a sheet of water sheeting off his head.

Also on the tour was the Arctic Cathedral.

There is a gondola that takes guest to the top of a mountain overlooking Thomsø.  It was fully dark by the time we were at the top of the hill but the views were nice with all of the city lights. 

Interesting ice cream on board ship.  We didn't try either.  

The Polar Night is period in which the sun never rises above the horizon.  This year is was November 27 to January 15 (the Polar Day is when the sun never sets...don't know the dates for that).
